About Video to MP3
Videos store sound as a separate track. This tool reads that track, decodes it with your browser's WebCodecs engine and saves it as MP3 with the LAME encoder (WebAssembly), as AAC in an M4A file, or as uncompressed WAV.
Is it private?
Yes. Video to MP3 runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Are my videos uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser with its built-in media engine (WebCodecs). Your videos never leave your device, and the page works offline once loaded.
Which video formats work?
MP4, M4V, MOV, WebM, MKV and MPEG-TS, as long as your browser can decode the audio inside (AAC, Opus, MP3, Vorbis, FLAC and PCM are common). The tool tells you clearly if it cannot.
Can I keep the sound without any quality loss?
Yes. Choose "Original (no re-encode)": the audio track is copied as it is. AAC sound becomes .m4a, Opus or Vorbis becomes .ogg.
How big will the MP3 be?
About 1.4 MB per minute at 192 kbps and about 0.9 MB per minute at 128 kbps, whatever the size of the video.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in a recent mobile browser. Very long videos may need more memory than a phone can spare; trim them first if that happens.
