About Temperature Converter
Temperature scales have different zero points, so they convert with a formula rather than a single factor. Celsius and Kelvin have the same step size (1 °C change = 1 K change); Fahrenheit and Rankine steps are 5/9 of that. Water freezes at 0 °C (32 °F) and boils at 100 °C (212 °F) at sea level.
Is it private?
Yes. Temperature Converter runs entirely in your web browser. What you type is never sent to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send it anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive data. Nothing is stored either: close the page and it is gone. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Multiply by 9/5 (1.8) and add 32. For example 25 °C × 1.8 + 32 = 77 °F.
How do I convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9. For example (98.6 °F − 32) × 5/9 = 37 °C.
At what temperature are Celsius and Fahrenheit the same?
At −40. −40 °C is exactly −40 °F.
What is absolute zero?
0 K, which is −273.15 °C or −459.67 °F. Nothing can be colder, so the converter warns you if you type a value below it.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript and the page has no way to send your numbers anywhere. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
