About Resize Image

Resizing changes the number of pixels. Nolo uses Lanczos3 resampling compiled to WebAssembly, which keeps edges sharper than the browser's default scaling. The output keeps the original format unless you choose JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF; iPhone HEIC photos are saved as JPG.

Passport and visa photo rules differ by country (for example 2×2 inches = 600×600 px at 300 DPI for US passports). Check the official size before you submit.

Is it private?

Yes. Resize Image runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Results are kept encrypted on your device for 60 minutes in Your files, then deleted automatically, or straight away with Delete all. How Nolo works.

Questions and answers

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device. Your images are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the tool keeps working with the internet switched off.

How do I resize without stretching the photo?

Leave "Keep aspect ratio" on and type only the width or the height; the other side is calculated. For presets with a fixed shape, choose "Crop to fill" (trims the edges) or "Fit with border" (adds a border).

What do the presets do?

Instagram post makes a 1080×1080 square, Instagram portrait 1080×1350, Story/Reel 1080×1920, Full HD 1920×1080, Passport/ID 600×600 and YouTube thumbnail 1280×720.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Every image gets the same settings; with "Keep aspect ratio" each keeps its own shape. Download them all as a ZIP.

Does resizing reduce the file size?

Making an image smaller in pixels almost always makes the file smaller too. For a specific size in KB use Compress Image to KB instead.

Can I make an image bigger?

Yes, up to 200% or any pixel size, but enlarging cannot add detail, so big enlargements look soft.
