How to use EXIF Viewer

  1. Choose or drop a photo (or several).
  2. See camera, settings and dates grouped in the report.
  3. Check the location warning: it shows GPS coordinates if the photo has them.
  4. Remove the EXIF data with Remove EXIF before you share the photo.

Is it private?

Yes. EXIF Viewer runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Results are kept encrypted on your device for 60 minutes in Your files, then deleted automatically, or straight away with Delete all. How Nolo works.

Questions and answers

Are my files uploaded?

No. The file is read by code running in your browser tab. It is never sent to Nolo or anyone else, and the tool keeps working with your internet switched off.

What is EXIF data?

EXIF is information a camera or phone writes into a photo: make and model, lens, exposure settings, the date and time, the orientation and, if location is on, GPS coordinates.

Can I see the EXIF of an iPhone HEIC photo?

Yes. HEIC photos are read directly, including their GPS data.

Why does my photo show no EXIF?

Many apps and websites remove EXIF when saving or sharing, and screenshots usually have none. If a photo was downloaded from a social network, its EXIF has often been stripped already.

Does it show XMP and IPTC too?

Yes. XMP (editing software, history, ratings), IPTC (caption, author, copyright) and the ICC colour profile are listed as well.
