File hash calculator
Drop a file to get its SHA-256, SHA-1, SHA-512, MD5 and CRC32 checksums, then paste the expected hash to see straight away whether it matches. Files of any size are hashed on your device.

How to use File Hash
- Choose or drop one or more files.
- Pick the algorithms you need (SHA-256 is the most common).
- Paste the hash from the download page into "Compare with a hash".
- Read the result: a green Match or a red No match.
About File Hash
SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 use your browser's built-in Web Crypto for files up to 256 MB; MD5, CRC32 and larger files use the hash-wasm WebAssembly library, streaming the file in pieces.
Is it private?
Yes. File Hash runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Results are kept encrypted on your device for 60 minutes in Your files, then deleted automatically, or straight away with Delete all. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
Are my files uploaded?
No. The file is read by code running in your browser tab. It is never sent to Nolo or anyone else, and the tool keeps working with your internet switched off.
Why check a file hash?
A matching hash proves the file you have is exactly the file the publisher hashed: the download is complete and was not changed or corrupted on the way.
Which algorithm should I use?
Use the one the publisher gives, usually SHA-256. MD5 and SHA-1 are fine for spotting corrupted downloads but are no longer safe against deliberate tampering.
Can it hash very large files?
Yes. Files over 256 MB are read in 8 MB pieces, so even multi-gigabyte ISO images work without filling your memory.
Does uppercase or lowercase matter when comparing?
No. The comparison ignores case and spaces, and also accepts formats like "SHA256 (file) = โฆ".
