Is it private?
Yes. Barcode Generator runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Results are kept encrypted on your device for 60 minutes in Your files, then deleted automatically, or straight away with Delete all. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
Are these barcodes valid for selling products in shops?
The barcodes are correctly encoded, but retail EAN/UPC numbers must be licensed from GS1 for your company. Nolo only draws the barcode for the number you enter.
What if I do not know the check digit?
Enter 12 digits for EAN-13, 11 for UPC-A or 13 for ITF-14 and the check digit is calculated and added. If you enter the full number, the check digit is verified.
Which type should I use?
EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail products, ITF-14 for cartons, Code 128 for shipping and internal labels with letters and numbers, Code 39 for older systems, and Data Matrix or PDF417 when you need a lot of data in a small space.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The barcode is drawn in your browser with the open-source bwip-js library.
