About QR Code Generator
Error correction lets a QR code be read even if part of it is damaged or covered: Low recovers about 7%, Medium 15%, Quartile 25% and High 30%. Higher levels make a denser pattern, so use the lowest that suits you unless you add a logo.
Leave a quiet zone (margin) of at least 4 modules around the code and keep a dark code on a light background for the most reliable scanning.
Is it private?
Yes. QR Code Generator runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Results are kept encrypted on your device for 60 minutes in Your files, then deleted automatically, or straight away with Delete all. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes: the link or text is stored in the pattern itself, so the code works for as long as the content (for example your website) exists. There is no account or subscription that can lapse.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The code is generated in your browser. Wi-Fi passwords, contacts and links never leave your device.
Can I track how many people scan my code?
No. Tracking needs a "dynamic" code that sends people through someone else's server first. Nolo makes direct codes on purpose, so scans go straight to your content.
How does the Wi-Fi QR code work?
It uses the standard WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;; format. iPhone and Android cameras offer to join the network when they scan it.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. The logo is placed in the centre and error correction is switched to High (30%) so the code still scans. Keep logos simple and test before printing.
PNG or SVG?
SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, ideal for print. PNG is best for websites, documents and messages; choose up to 4096 px.
