- Paste your text or URL.
- Pick how to encode (query value, form data or full URL).
- Copy the result.
Is it private?
Yes. URL Encode/Decode runs entirely in your web browser. What you type is never sent to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send it anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive data. Nothing is stored either: close the page and it is gone. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
Is my URL sent to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser and your URL never leaves your device. The page is not allowed to talk to any other site, so it is safe to use with real data and secrets.
Which encoding should I use?
Use "Query value / path part" for a single value you insert into a URL; it encodes everything except letters, digits and - _ . ~. Use "Full URL" to fix spaces and accents in a whole address while keeping : / ? & = #. Use "Form data" for application/x-www-form-urlencoded bodies, where spaces become +.
Why does + sometimes mean a space?
In HTML form data and many query strings a space is written as +. In other parts of a URL + is a literal plus. Turn "Treat + as a space" off if your plus signs are real.
What does "Malformed percent-encoding" mean?
A % must be followed by two hex digits, and the bytes must form valid UTF-8. The tool shows where the broken sequence is and decodes everything else.
Are non-English characters supported?
Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, so รฉ becomes %C3%A9 and emoji become four bytes, as browsers expect.
