Is it private?
Yes. Mute Video runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Are my videos uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser with its built-in media engine (WebCodecs). Your videos never leave your device, and the page works offline once loaded.
Does it re-encode my video?
No. The video frames are copied exactly; only the sound track is left out. That is why it is fast and lossless.
Will the file get smaller?
Slightly. Audio is usually a small part of a video (around 1 MB per minute), so the size drops by that much.
Can I keep the audio as a separate file?
Yes. Use MP4 to MP3 or Video to MP3 on the same video to save the sound on its own.
Which formats work?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV keep their format. Other containers are saved as MP4.
