- Press Enter or = to calculate.
- Tap a line in History to reuse a result; use M+, M−, MR and MC for memory.
About Scientific Calculator
Results are shown to 12 significant digits, which hides floating-point noise (0.1 + 0.2 shows as 0.3). Very large or small numbers switch to scientific notation like 1.5e+20. The factorial works for whole numbers up to 170.
Is it private?
Yes. Scientific Calculator runs entirely in your web browser. What you type is never sent to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send it anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive data. Nothing is stored either: close the page and it is gone. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
What order of operations does it use?
Brackets, then powers (right to left, so 2^3^2 = 512), then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction, left to right. −2^2 is −4, as in maths textbooks.
Does it work in degrees or radians?
Both. Switch between them; sin(30) is 0.5 in degrees. Inverse functions (sin⁻¹ etc.) answer in the chosen unit.
Which functions are supported?
sin, cos, tan and their inverses, sinh, cosh, tanh, ln, log (base 10), log2, sqrt, cbrt, abs, exp, x^y, n!, %, π, e and Ans (the last answer). Write 2π or 3(4+1) for multiplication.
Is it safe to paste anything into it?
Yes. Nolo reads calculations with its own small parser that only understands numbers, operators and the functions above; nothing you type is ever run as code.
Are my numbers sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked, and the calculator works offline once the page has loaded.
