Questions and answers
How do I type a mixed number?
Whole number, space, fraction: 2 3/4. Negative numbers start with a minus sign: -1 1/2.
How do I divide fractions?
Flip the second fraction and multiply: 3/4 รท 1/8 = 3/4 ร 8/1 = 24/4 = 6.
Are results simplified?
Always. The numerator and denominator are divided by their greatest common divisor.
Can I enter decimals?
Yes. 0.75 is read as 3/4. Repeating decimals like 0.333โฆ are not converted exactly, so type 1/3 instead.
Are my numbers sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked, and the calculator works offline once the page has loaded.
