About PDF to PNG
PNG files of text pages are usually small, because large white areas compress very well. Pages full of photos make large PNGs; use PDF to JPG for those.
Is it private?
Yes. PDF to PNG runs entirely in your web browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the page cannot send them anywhere: its security policy only allows it to talk to nolotools.com, which has no place to receive files. Results are kept encrypted on your device for 60 minutes in Your files, then deleted automatically, or straight away with Delete all. How Nolo works.
Questions and answers
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Nolo renders the pages in your browser with pdf.js. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Why choose PNG instead of JPG?
PNG is lossless: text, diagrams and screenshots keep perfectly sharp edges with no JPG artefacts. The trade-off is larger files, especially for pages with photos.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. Pages are drawn on white, the way they look in a PDF viewer, because most PDFs expect a white page behind the content.
What resolution do I need?
Use 150 DPI for screens and documents and 300 DPI for print. An A4 page at 300 DPI is 2480 ร 3508 pixels.
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. Choose "Choose pages" and type pages or ranges, for example 2, 4-6.
