Is transparency kept?
Yes. PNG supports transparency, so transparent WebP images stay transparent.
Why is the PNG bigger than the WebP?
PNG is lossless: it stores every pixel exactly, while WebP usually compresses with loss. The PNG is optimised with OxiPNG, but it will still be larger.
Are animated WebP files supported?
Only the first frame is converted to PNG.
Are my WebP files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device. Your WebP files are never uploaded to Nolo or anyone else, and the tool keeps working with the internet switched off.
Is there a limit on files or size?
